Located on a hill overlooking the valleys of the Durance and Buëch, Upaix belongs to the most beautiful hilltop villages of the region.

The highest point of the medieval tower offers a magnificent panoramic view on 360 ° of the surrounding mountains.

The inhabitants of the village are very proud of their heritage and they attach great importance to safeguard and promote it.
A village tour is offered every wednesday in July and August by Mrs. Chevallier (06.07.34.70.48).
Temporary exhibitions are held in the Chapel of the Penitents.

  • Beautiful classified church (XIV - XVII centuries) 
  • Chapel of the Penitents and its sundial 
  • Restored plaster dovecote 
  • The porch, former entrance gate of the village with a broken bow arch dating from the XIV, part of the seigniorial residence whose stairwell  is decorated with plasterworks...
