Small village close to Laragne, Lazer contains precious archaeological evidence.

The exploration campaign of the gypsum quarry (still in operation) helped to expose artifacts and sites dating from the middle Ages (Visible in the Museum of Gap).

Today this community, with its brilliant past, perpetuates its dynamism thanks to hydroelectric development. Water does not only produce electricity, irrigate crops and orchards, but also promote tourism (Pond of Le Riou in Eyguians).

 Saint Georges church in Lazer

The St George church which was renovated is well worth visiting: Nice interior fresco and façade sundial. Feel free to come and stroll along the paths of Lazer!

A pleasant family hike in the heart of beautiful agricultural landscapes, winding under the ridge of St Genis Mountain, will reveal some of its water development projects, together with an impressive view on the Lake of Lazer and surrounding countryside.

(PO53 Topo guide "Pays du Buëch à pied" -Buëch Country walks"-, PR 20, 2:40, 8km).

For children :

Lazer offers a beautiful playground and a “city stadium” which is fun for every child.
